Meet Lesley D. Flanagan
From the beginning of my career, I was drawn to hair extensions and their ability to transform not just hair, but confidence. Over the years, as the industry evolved, so did I. I earned 16 certifications and became proficient in multiple methods, including hidden beaded rows, traditional beaded rows, keratin bonds, tape-in extensions, and more. I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Every method I use is chosen intentionally to fit a client’s lifestyle, goals, and comfort. Whether I’m helping someone grow out a haircut they regret, restoring fullness for a postpartum mom, or creating seamless, natural volume for fine hair, the work is always personal and considered.
I’m also deeply committed to changing the narrative around our industry. Hairstylists are highly skilled professionals, and the work we do requires strategy, education, and expertise. Through one-on-one coaching, in-salon training, and online education, I teach stylists how to master luxury hair extensions, market themselves with confidence, and build businesses that feel aligned, intentional, and successful on their own terms.
Who am I, anyway?
I’m Lesley D. Flanagan, a Master Hair Extensionist, salon owner of Salon 1827, and a business coach and educator for stylists who want more than just great technique. I’ve spent over two decades behind the chair building a luxury extension practice and helping other stylists refine their craft, attract high-end clients, and create businesses that are both profitable and sustainable.
As my own business grew, I saw an education gap. Too much focus on technique alone, and not enough on positioning, pricing, client experience, and sustainability. That’s why I founded Sew Extra™ Coaching and became a co-creator of Local Luxury, an education platform built to support stylists, especially those in smaller markets, who want to attract premium clients and elevate their extension services without burning out.
Will we be a good fit?
Sew Extra™ Coaching Programs are designed for stylists who take their work seriously and want a business that reflects that level of care. The stylists who thrive here are already committed to high-quality services and are ready to refine how they show up behind the chair and in their business.
You’ll likely be a great fit if you are:
A stylist offering or actively pursuing hair extension services
Focused on quality, longevity, and client experience over volume
Open to refining your pricing, boundaries, and positioning
Ready to attract clients who value expertise and are willing to invest
Looking for structure, clarity, and strategy rather than quick fixes
Willing to implement, reflect, and elevate your standards
This work is for stylists who want alignment as much as growth. Those who care deeply about the craft, respect the business side of their work, and are ready to build something sustainable and intentional.
If this resonates, you’re in the right place.
Who this is not for
Sew Extra™ Coaching is intentionally selective. This work is built for stylists who value depth, refinement, and long-term growth, and that means it won’t be the right fit for everyone.
This may not be for you if you are:
X -Looking for a quick fix or overnight results
X- Poor attitudes and outlooks on life, and don’t take accountability to grow
X- Not ready to take responsibility for your results and implementation
X-Uncomfortable being honest about what is and isn’t working in your business.
This experience requires participation, self-awareness, and a willingness to evolve. The results come from doing the work, not just consuming information.
If you’re looking for ease without effort or validation without change, Sew Extra™ likely isn’t the right next step. But for the stylist who is ready to elevate with intention, this work can be transformative.
Values and Beliefs
Great work starts with respect for the craft.
Precision, patience, and care will always matter more than volume.
When the work is done well, it speaks for itself.
Luxury is felt, not explained.
It lives in the consultation, the details, the follow-through, and the way a client feels long after they leave the chair. Price is not the definition. Experience is.
There is no universal method.
Every client, every head of hair, every lifestyle requires intention. The best results come from choosing what serves the client, not what is trending.
Positioning shapes outcomes.
How you communicate your standards, your expertise, and your value determines who finds you and who stays. Clarity creates alignment.
Education should support longevity.
A successful career is not built on hustle alone. It is built on systems, boundaries, and decisions that allow you to do high-level work for years, not just seasons.
Boundaries protect the work.
Clear expectations create better client relationships, stronger results, and space for creativity to thrive.
Premium clients are led, advised, or recommended, not sold to.
Confidence, structure, and professionalism attract clients who value expertise and trust the process.
Growth should feel intentional.
Sustainable success is calm, structured, and aligned. Chaos is not a requirement.
Stylists are skilled professionals.
This industry is built on education, strategy, and mastery. We reject the idea that excellence behind the chair is anything less than professional expertise.
Implementation and action are everything.
Knowledge without action changes nothing. Results come from consistently applying what you learn with integrity and care.
